F.A.S.T. campaigns in other countries
F.A.S.T. has been used in many other countries and vastly improved the public's ability to recognise the symptoms of stroke and to know they should ring 999 immediately.
A F.A.S.T. campaign was undertaken in the UK by the National Health Service (NHS) in 2009 with great success. Research conducted after the first wave of advertising showed a 55% increase in the number of emergency calls for stroke.

There has been a huge uplift of public awareness to the symptoms of stroke after the media and TV campaign undetaken in the UK. Nine out of ten people surveyed post campaign had seen or heard at least one element of the campaign.
Similar campaigns have been rolled out in Australia, the United States of America and New Zealand.
